CTeen Newton kicked off the year with its first event with a BBQ! Teens had fun baking cakes for the community Yom Kippur break-fast. We spoke about Sandy Koufax's brave and historical commitment to Yom Kippur and discussed if we have that same courage and commitment. The student leaders introduced CTeen's programs and mission and gave an overview of the highlight event of the year, the NY Shabbaton Weekend! The get-to-know-you game was an exciting way to meet new friends and learn new things about old ones! Looking forward to our 3rd year of CTeen together!
CTeen Newton gathered around the bonfire to mark Lag Baomer. Teens tie-dyed "onesies" for newborn babies in the hospital in the NICU. After roasting s'mores, the teens played a game which led into heated discussions about various topics that today's teens are faced with.
Three CTeen chapters joined together for an incredible Shabbaton! Over Shabbat teens enjoyed informative and inspirational talks from various rabbis, rebbetzins, and from a doctor and an attorney. Teens bonded over entertaining activities and interactive workshops. Saturday night was filled with fun and laughter with a grand laser tag game, arcades and more followed by midnight pizza. On Sunday morning teens shared their reflections of the weekend over breakfast before heading home.
On Chanukah CTeen Newton crafted keychains for the IDF Soldiers and wrote letters of thanks for their work in protecting our land. The soldiers received the packages and thanked the teens for their thoughtfulness.
