CTeen Newton gave seniors a memorable afternoon with a Model Matzah Bakery. The teens showed them the process of making the Matzah from the wheat stalk on to the mixing, kneading and rolling the dough. As the Matzah went in the oven, the teens chatted with the seniors. The teens found it very informative and heard from Holocaust Survivors first-hand account of their stories.
We had a discussion about recognizing & appreciating what he have and how we can convey that appreciation. We designed frosted glasses and ended off with making pillows for orphans.
We wrapped lovely gifts to be given on Chanukah to cheer up children in the hospital & had a discussion about how Chanukah is relevant today. In our present state, it's far more challenging to feel strong for Judaism because there's no opposition. We therefore need Chanukah more then ever!
We ended off the evening with creating oil lava lamps in connection with the miracle of the oil on Chanukah.
Thank you to those of you who made it! & to Jessie Powers & Jackie Kondkhorov, our CTeen Leaders for helping coordinate the event!
Look forward to seeing you next time at our Chanukah Party!

Our teens created these personalized medals and cards to express their appreciation for the soldiers in Israel. They were delivered by Rabbi Chaim & Nechama Prus to the soldiers stationed in the holy city of Chevron, who were extremely grateful and appreciated the thoughtfulness of the youth in America.
